2024 the First Blog

Thank you to my growing fan base, you humble me with the compliment of spending your money on my work.

Damien Hunter continues to power on.

It has been a good year in my Author world.

So, ends 2023 and already 2024 is roaring along. This is my normal end of year blog, where the league of people who read these will know that I wrap up what I read over the year and any interesting things.

The foremost interesting thing for 2023 was the release of Ghosts in the Fog and the amazing work done by distributor Simon and Schuster to get the novel into airports across the country. It was a true thrill to walk through an airport and see Ghosts in the Fog on the shelf for all travellers to see. A great thing. 2024 will see the third novel in the series released.

2023 saw me write the next two in the Damien Hunter series, novels four and five. Four is complete and waiting to see if Big Sky are interested to take it on for the future. Novel number five is currently with my Alpha readers for feedback. This year will see me moving to a new series for a while as I look to expand my reader base. More news on that coming up in the future.

Music is integral to my writing and last year I was able to tick off two bands I have waited a long time to see. First cab off the rank was Megadeth at Knotfest in Brisbane. Great set and Dave still has it. Second only by the time of year I saw them was that mighty Australian band, The Mark of Cain. Their set was spectacular energy full of the driving songs I love them for. I discovered The Mark of Cain 30 years ago. By far up there with my favourite band to listen to. I wrote most of novel five to them.

So, on to the read list for 2023. I managed to chew my way through 33 books. A fair achievement, but still far short of the many great authors who publish each year. You will, as always, see my support for Indie authors.
